Seagate Return Policy?

Seagate's Return Policy applies to Seagate, Maxtor, and LaCie products. Shipping costs for all shipments from the customer to Seagate must be paid by the customer. Products should be sent using a carrier with the ability to trace the shipment, as Seagate is not responsible for shipments without proof of delivery. If the product is under warranty, Seagate will cover the postage for replacement products sent to the customer. However, the customer must pay all applicable duties and customs charges for shipments to and from Seagate unless otherwise authorized. Seagate is not responsible for loss or damage during transit, so purchasing freight insurance is suggested. No collect shipments will be accepted without prior authorization from Seagate.

The original product will not be returned to the customer. Replacement products are factory-certified and carry either the original warranty balance or 90 days, whichever is greater. All data and software on the returned product will be lost, and replacement products arrive low-level formatted. Any required data recovery service must be completed before requesting an RMA from Seagate. The Seagate RMA number issued is valid only for the return of non-conforming Seagate products under warranty. Products that are determined to be No Trouble Found (NTF) are not eligible for warranty service. Before returning a product, customers may use the Seagate SeaTools diagnostic tool to determine the condition of the product and whether it is eligible to be returned under warranty. Seagate reserves the right to return NTF products back to their owner and may charge for associated shipping costs.

Items purchased on seagate.com can be returned within 30 days of delivery for a full refund if they are in like-new condition. After 30 days, a product can only be replaced under warranty.
